30 Whole Days of NAKED, in a nutshell (not really though, it's in conjunction with CrossFit Antrim).
We're excited to be working alongside our friends at CFA to host a 30 day Nutrition challenge commencing on MONDAY (we love Mondays!) 18th January. Not only are we supporting the Nutrition, we're also taking the journey, together with a group of awesome people who want to 'clean up after Christmas'. We've been signing up a number of new clients and will be providing them with their Whole30 compliant meals for the duration. To help them (and anyone else needing it) we'll be working with the guys at CFA and offering advice, tips, tricks and more - help will be readily available. If any of you are familiar with this program, you'll know basically, for the Whole30 days we aren't allowed...
NO dairy
NO alcohol
NO sugars (added sweeteners)
NO grains
NO legumes
and last but by no means least..
NO cheating (this is for our own good)
we ARE allowed meats, seafood, eggs, vegetables, fruits and nuts!! There's heaps of information if you clink on the link below, to go over the small print;
Whole 30 - Get in the Know
It can't be that bad! No it really isn't, it is a Challenge (it does exactly what it says on the tin). BUT, you've got this. With our 40 days and 40 nights personal program well under way, 14 days in fact (not counting), this Whole30 challenge has come at a perfect time! Remember we told you it takes 21 days to break a habit? We have 7 to go, and this might just be the icing-on-the-cake to break that cycle - pardon the pun...we really haven't been eating cake!
Some information provided by CrossFit Antrim...
The purpose of the Whole30?
The vast majority of people who successfully complete the Whole30 will lose weight and improve their body composition without counting calories, however this is not the main focus of the program.
The main purpose of the Whole30 program is to change your health, your habits and your relationship with food. This program eliminates and then eventually reintroduces foods that can be a problem across the following areas; cravings, emotional relationship with food, your metabolism, your digestion and your immune system.
What results will we get from Whole30?
It will help you identify the foods that make YOU less healthy (as everyone is unique) and teach you how to create and follow the prefect diet for you.
If you
successfully complete this program you can expect improved athletic performance,
better sleep and higher energy levels.
Is the Whole30 for everyone?
Absolutely, this nutrition challenge is exactly that, nutrition. Men, women, children, of all ages can take part in the Whole30, as it is a nutritional lifestyle of real foods - there are certain rules and recommendations that will apply to those of different age groups, pregnant women or children, but basically this IS for everyone. You'll find all the information you need on the links within this Blog and it's definitely a good idea to read over yourself.

Our Recommendation...

You'll be part of a team of individuals all working towards their goals - and have fun doing it. (You'll also see member benefits with your CFA membership).
What have we been up to in 14 days? (Nearly 15!).
This is the cool part, and some of you might be glad to know, it really isn't as scary as it seems! We've had a head start on our Whole30 challenge - well because, we have this minion called 'Kevin' (seriously) and he's got this 'big day' in February to celebrate, so, we decided we'd complete our 30 days on time for that (to help him celebrate - aren't we thoughtful?!). More importantly, we're able to offer some of our early experiences to those starting on Monday. So far? Yeap, a challenge - don't panic, it's not because of those foods we aren't allowed, but learning to think more to prepare our day of nutrition (recommended no snacking), we're very fortunate to be meal planners (you know that already) and have our meals prepared, but with an alter in our morning breakfast and snacks - normally porridge and a protein shake on 'school mornings' - we're making sure our meals are sustaining us. Folks, this is doable - be proud of yourself!!
